The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana has postponed its State of the Coast conference, which had been scheduled for May of this year, until 2021 because of concerns surrounding COVID-19. The premier gathering for coastal restoration in Louisiana will take place June 2 to 4, 2021. The conference will be at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans, as previously planned.
Registration for the 2023 conference will be honored for next year’s gathering. The program will be reviewed and reconsidered in the coming months to ensure timely content and to include discussion of how the coronavirus pandemic may affect our climate and coastal restoration. Further developments about State of the Coast 2021 will be sent via email and posted on the conference website.
Biloxi Marsh Living Shoreline Project
This time-lapse video shows dramatic changes to the shoreline in Lake Athanasio in the Biloxi Marsh. Over the course of a year, the installation of our living shoreline reef slows the erosion rate by nearly half compared to an area close by without one. View Video.
